The best way to combat homelessness in our community is to prevent it from happening in the first place. Escambia County has a wealth of resources for low-income families or those experiencing financial difficulties. We connect struggling families with local and government programs that can provide assistance in their specific situations as well as provide guidance and support with the goal of combating homelessness.
For families actively experiencing homelessness in our community, we provide:
-
overnight shelter
-
hot meals
-
showers
-
laundry facilities
-
computers and internet access
-
support and guidance
Through our Interfaith Hospitality Network, faith organizations provide unoccupied space as a safe, warm place for families to sleep at night. Our Day Center provides a place for families to meet basic needs including internet access, showers, and laundry facilities. The staff and volunteers at the Day Center provide case management connecting families with financial resources and assisting in the search for jobs, affordable housing, and education as well as offer mentorship and support.
