Family Promise offers a holistic solution to family homelessness and our shelter models ensure the right fit for a family. Through all we do, we endeavor to keep families together and safe. The national core shelter model began as a grassroots, interfaith effort that grew into 6,000 congregations and other organizations hosting families at a third of the traditional shelter cost. We are a secular organization that engages local communities and mobilizes 200,000 volunteers every year to offer hospitality and community in a trauma-informed environment.
Through our Interfaith Hospitality Network, faith organizations provide unoccupied space as a safe, warm place for families to sleep at night. Our Day Center provides a place for families to meet basic needs including internet access, showers, and laundry facilities. The staff and volunteers at the Day Center provide case management connecting families with financial resources and assisting in the search for jobs, affordable housing, and education as well as offer mentorship and support.
If you are interested in getting involved to help with our mission we are always in need of volunteers, hosts, and financial donors. Learn more about how you could help.
